How do you guys work?
Our process is easy peasy. You book online and fill out the waiver digitally. We meet you at the Neck Road Boat Ramp in Huntersville NC (Please type Neck Road Boat Ramp into Google Maps. This address will not come up on Apple Maps. Duke Access Road, Huntersville, NC 28078 should come up as the address. Any others addresses that come up is not the correct address.) Delivery is free for our primary location at Neck Road Boat Ramp. We do not have a store front.
Do you deliver to other locations as well?
Please call us to see if we can deliver to your chosen location prior to reserving your booking. In order for us to deliver to other locations, it must be a Daily, Multi-Day, or a Weekly Rental. There is a $20 delivery fee for bookings 15 minutes or more outside of Neck Road Boat Ramp and a $100 minimum. Your chosen delivery location must be delivered in the morning an hour before we open and picked up an hour after we close.
What is your weather policy?
If the weather is bad because of high winds, lightening, heavy rain, storms, or unsafe conditions, we can postpone your reservation for another day or time. Light rain or drizzle is ok but we want to make sure our customers are safe. If the weather is bad when you show up at the agreed time, we will not allow you to go out in unsafe conditions. Please be aware of the weather conditions just in case.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept all forms of payment. Payment must be made prior to delivery.
What is the age to rent a kayak/paddleboard?
An Identification Card is required showing you are 18 or older. Children ages 5 and up to 130 lbs can use the kids kayak. Children ages 10 through 17 can use an adult kayak. Kids ages 18 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult in the water. We must have a signed liability waiver from a parent/guardian. The child's name must be on the waiver with a parent/guardian's signature.
What are your delivery hours?
Our delivery hours are from 10am-5:30pm Mon-Fri and 9am-5:30pm on Sat & Sun. We offer same day bookings however we prefer bookings to be scheduled 24 hours in advance.
Do I need GPS for kayak rentals?
You must have a charged phone with working gps in order to rent our kayaks. We provide dry bags for your cell phone.
Do you allow trade outs?
No trade outs are allowed.
Is there a rental agreement/waiver for my rental?
Each person over the age of 18 must sign a waiver/rental agreement. If you are under the age of 18, a parent/guardian will need to sign the rental agreement/waiver. We provide a digital waiver which can be completed on a tablet, smartphone, or computer.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are more than welcome! For bigger dogs, we require that you use a tandem or a paddleboard. The single kayak will not fit a large dog unfortunately. We just ask that you sign a liability waiver and make sure your little furry one has a life jacket on at all times. Unfortunately, we do not supply life jackets for dogs at this time.
What all is included with the rental?
You will receive a dry bag, life jacket, and a whistle.
What do I need to bring?
You can bring sunblock, snacks, a water bottle, and a mini cooler will fit on the back of our kayaks. You can even put a small pair of bluetooth speakers in one of our dry bags. I recommend water shoes, shorts, and breathable clothing in the summer. Also make sure you have a charged phone on you at all times.
Are there bathrooms available?
Unfortunately the Neck Rd. Boat Ramp does not have restrooms but there are public restrooms at the Latta Nature Preserve on 6345 Sample Rd. Huntersville, NC 28078 which is 12 minutes from the launch location.
